Review Of Like Father Like Son
This was my first book by the author and it was great fun and also heratbreaking at times. The story, though mature, heavy and taboo, considering the relationship between Maguire and Holland is handled with great care and sensitivity. I love how they bonded and got close despite and because of the tragedy of losing Scott - His son and her husband. Their banters and boundaries they maintained initially despite the mutual attraction was very well written and I could connect with them both individually and also like them as a couple.
Their attraction and the way their relationship slowly changed was seamless and was done ina very convincing way, taking into account their sensitives. And with the baby in the picture- It was like a double edged sword - More the reason to not pursue a relationship, but the intimacy, closeness increased ten-fold. It was also a slow burn romance in one sense , and thought i felt dragged at parts with nothing much happening in terms of story progression, it did made sense for the kind of relationship they had and the fact that they were trying to respect each other and their love for their son. So, overall, I did enjoy this read and I"m hoping that sequel will be even better, and more 'dramatic'. Looking forward to it. Will reward this 4 stars.
